A Bristol delft blue and white dish Circa 1740
Painted with a fisherman on a bridge with four arches and three towers and with a further tower beneath a sponged tree and with sailing boats and a canoe in an expansive river landscape, with a further tower on a river island and a cloudy sky above, another among hilly mounds below, the underside with X and dash ornament (very slight rim chips and flaking, minor chip to well at six o'clock)

This dish is possibly related to other delftwares produced in Bristol to commemorate the return of Admiral Vernon from Portobello in the West Indies in 1739. He visited Bristol in 1742.
