The rectangular case mounted on a stepped and moulded breche violette marble plinth, the ivorine dial painted with a Swiss village scene, the time showing on a clock tower with blued steel hands, with cut-out panel revealing automaton Cupid at his forge, the reverse inscribed Idylle au Village fab. suisse and numbered 57398, the movement cover signed DIDISHEIM GOLDSCHMIDT FILS & CO, with key-less wind watch movement -- 51/8in.
