The case in the manner of Thomas Cole with handle to the top and spike finials, dentil cornices, inverted breakfront sides with pilasters to the angles, recessed side panels within a cut away frame and engraved with flowers and scrolls overlaid with lozenges, rear door also engraved with foliate scrolls, with later knob, on integral plinth with paw feet, the silvered and engraved dial with plain Roman chapter ring, dial possibly replaced, blued steel moon hands, the single barrel movement with vertically positioned lever escapement with plain steel three arm balance, the half backplate signed Hunt & Roskell 156 NEW BOND ST. London and numbered 10044 -- 42/3in. (11.5cm.) high
