A Napoleon III ormolu and porcelain-mounted striking mantel clock, third quarter 19th century
The case surmounted by a jewelled porcelain urn, supported by caryatids and with finial modelled as Cupid holding aloft a torch, with central female mask mount, the bowed porcelain side panels painted with sprays of flowers and musical trophies, within gilt painted and jewelled borders, on stepped and part-fluted breakfront base, the dial with conforming decoration and painted with a pastoral scene of young lovers, with gilt chapter ring and jewelled flowers, Roman numerals on white reserves, the centre painted with flying Cupid, with gilt spade hands, the twin barrel movement with strike on bell, stamped on the backplate GARRARD & VICNON F.T D'HORLOGERIE RUE COMMINES PARIS 7 -- 23½in. Lots will be available for collection following transfer to Cadogan Tate from the Friday following the sale and every week-day from 9.00am to 5.00pm.
Please note that there will be no charge to purchasers who collect their lots within one week of the sale.
On the Thursday, one week after the sale, a transfer and administration charge of £18.50 per lot will be payable and a storage charge of £3.20 per lot per day will then come into effect. These charges are payable to Cadogan Tate and are subject to VAT and an insurance surcharge.
