The 8in. terrestrial globe with coloured printed paper gores, inscribed GLOBE ADOPTÉ PAR LE CONSEIL DE L'UNIVERSITÉ Maison DELAMARCHE Rue Serpente. 25 PARIS, the oceans showing warm and cold currents, the continents with mountain ranges shown, national boundaries marked in orange (various surface abrasions), the globe mounted on its axis over a mechanism geared to the clock's going train and above a horizontal clear glass calendar ring with bevelled edge (some rubbing to painted inscriptions), within an unengraved gilt-brass meridian circle, with calendar pointer to the front, with manual adjustment to the globe to one side; with single barrel movement with deadbeat escapement, with white enamel Roman chapter ring, skeletonized centre, with steel moon hands (minute lacking), the movement supported by a gilt-brass circular platform signed V.or Laneuville H.er. a Paris, supported in turn by four bronze-patinated female figures standing on a stepped and moulded square marmo nero Belgio plinth wih gilt-brass paw feet -- 26½in. (67cm.)
