A George I ebonised striking bracket clock with pull quarter repeat, first quarter 18th century
The case with baluster brass handle to inverted bell top, rectangular glazed side panels, on block feet, the rectangular brass dial (7in. x 8in.) signed ROBERT HODGKIN LONDON within a foliate engraved cartouche, flanked by subsidiary silvered rings for seconds and slaen/nit Slaen, with foliate scroll engraved upper spandrels and cast cherub mask lower spandrels, to the silvered chapter ring, matted centre with ringed winding holes, decorated mock pendulum and date apertures, later blued steel hands, the five pillar twin wire fusee movement with re-built verge escapement, with re-built quarter repeat on six bells and hour strike on further bell, the backplate profusely engraved with scrolling foliage within a wheatear border, with repeat signature; case and movement with restorations -- 15¾in. (40cm.) high

Lots will be available for collection following transfer to Cadogan Tate from the Friday following the sale and every week-day from 9.00am to 5.00pm.
Please note that there will be no charge to purchasers who collect their lots within one week of the sale.
On the Thursday, one week after the sale, a transfer and administration charge of £18.50 per lot will be payable and a storage charge of £3.20 per lot per day will then come into effect. These charges are payable to Cadogan Tate and are subject to VAT and an insurance surcharge.
