A St. Cloud silver-gilt mounted snuff-box Circa 1740, the contemporary silver-gilt mounts with the décharge of Louis Robin, Paris, 1738-44
Modelled as a reclining shepherd with a blue sash on a rockwork base painted in a Kakiemon palette with flowers issuing from grassy mounds, the cover painted with similar flowers, the interior to the cover similarly decorated (two slight chips to hat and chip to one corner of jacket and short hairline crack to mound, minute chip to inside rim of cover)
