A Paris (Darte) biscuit and gilt cabinet-cup and saucer
Circa 1810, iron-red stencilled mark DARTE/FRERES/A PARIS to saucer
The cup formed as a rhyton, moulded with gilt acanthus leaves and anthemion issuing from a boar's head and with high scroll handle with an eagle's head, the oval saucer entirely gilt, the rim moulded with a band of stiff leaves (slight rubbing to snout of boar and centre of saucer, two very slight gilt losses to interior of cup)
