Château de Rayne-Vigneau--Vintage 1904
Bommes (Sauternes), 1er cru classé
Levels: two top and two upper shoulder; slightly torn labels, corroded capsules and signs of seepage
Provenance, major sale of a Rothschild family cellar in Paris, at Christie's, 24 June 1976.

An excellent vintage. Three notes before and at the 1976 pre-sale tasting. Good cork, lovely old amber-gold colour; classic, rich, crème brûlée bouquet; medium sweet, richness balanced by acidity. Excellent finish. Confirmed at subsequent tastings. MB
