A Capodimonte (Carlo III) white figure of a book and print-seller from Le voci di Napoli series
Circa 1750, incuse fleur-de-lys within a circle
Modelled by Guiseppe Gricci, in mob cap, jacket, shirt, pantaloons, stockings and shoes, a small satchel hanging from a belt at his waist and holding an oval basket of books, with two blank prints hanging from the front edge, supported on a rockwork pillar to his left and standing on a shaped rockwork base (bottom left corner of one print lacking, small chip to hem of his jacket and minute chip to underside of right lapel, firing crack through his left ankle and to base of rockwork pillar)

Although the present example is not recorded, it would appear to belong to this series. The figures were modelled by Guiseppe Gricci inspired by engravings by Annibale Carracci.
