First tasted in 1954 and on over 20 occasions since. A magnificent wine. Incredible depth and power. Most recently, a perfect bottle at a "Last Friday Club" lunch at Raji's in Memphis, Tennessee, December 1997. MB
Also tasted at Len Evan's final dinner as Chairman, Sydney Wine Show, February 2000 : colour is an excellent depth of garnet red, still looking young. It has delicious, delicate fragrance, with amazing youthfulness, subtle, gentle body, complex flavours and gentle, long finish. A perfect port, entirely mature and showing no signs of tiredness. AH
