A Pair of Meissen models of Golden Orioles
Circa 1741, one with blue crossed swords mark to back, the other to base
The original modelled by J.J. Kändler apparently modified by J.G. Edner, to left and right, their heads turned towards their tails, with yellow bodies and with black and yellow wing and tail feathers, perched on conical tree-stumps applied with cherry branches, coloured flowers, foliage and toadstools (the left hand example with restoration to middle claw of right foot, the other with restoration through right wing close to body, beak, claws of both feet, branch and cherries, both with minor chipping to foliage)
