A Meissen model of a dove on its nest
Circa 1732
Modelled by J.J. Kändler to the left, with black and blue head, wing and tail feathers and with finely incised plumage, its oval nest modelled from overlapping twigs applied with black and blue feathers (beak restored, chip and slight restoration to crest, restoration to top edge of both wings, chips and pieces lacking from twigs of nest, extended firing crack to base and some minute flaking to enamels)

Kändler's Taxa for October 1732 XVII Bl. 323 records 'Eine Taube welche auf einem Nest Sitzt und brütet'.
