In 1985 these Chambertin vines were over 65 years old, for they were planted in 1919 (and are still going strong, incidentally). There is no hurry to open these bottles. The tannins of the basic cuvée of Chambertin 1985 here are now well-rounded, but these bottles will gain from 5 or more years extra ageing. AH
