Latricières-Chambertin--Vintage 1985
Côte de Nuits, Faiveley
Slightly binsoiled labels
Tasted January 1999 at an "Acolytes of Burgundy" dinner hosted by Bill Langelier in San Francisco. Color noted as garnet/prune. The nose was gorgeous and complete, an essence of buttery red cherries. Flavors were rich and ripe, enlivened by both tangy acidity and alcohol. Good, viscous texture, too. Only a touch more ethereality would have made it perfection. FH
