A Pair of Meissen models of Pied Wagtails (Bachstelze)
Circa 1734, blue crossed swords marks
Modelled by J.J. Kändler, with black and grey plumage and striped legs and feet, perched to left and right astride a tree-trunk applied with moss and a branch of oak leaves (restoration to beaks, tails, each with one branch of oak leaves lacking from tree-stump, one with two claws partly lacking, the other with one claw of each foot lacking, both with minor chipping to foliage)
