Côte de Nuits, G. Roumier
1986 was a difficult vintage to vinify in Burgundy, as there had been great heat in August, which blocked the vegetation, and it then rained on the grapes as they were reaching maturity. At this Domaine the young Christophe Roumier produced some of the greatest wines of this vintage, throughout his range. Both Musigny and Bonnes-Mares have opened up and now make splendid drinking, with a touch of firmness on the finish. AH
