An haute couture bolero, the matador-style long-sleeved jacket of black drill lavishly embroidered with black cord, sequins and beads to form a pattern of flowerheads and scrolling foliage, the front opening trimmed with pendant silk covered beads with sequinned terminals, with Yves Saint Laurent, Paris label, numbered 18820; and a full-length skirt of flame coloured moiré silk; a sash of yellow moiré silk; and a twisted silk rope belt of scarlet, gold and flame coloured silk cord; accompanied by three snap-shots, one in colour, of Fonteyn wearing the skirt at various galas, the colour photograph inscribed on the reverse Du Pré Gala Reception New York 1981, largest -- 7x5in. (17.7x12.7cm.); and two black and white photographs of Fonteyn wearing the bolero at a reception in Germany, 1968, one shot also featuring Nureyev on the same occasion, largest -- 9½x7in.
