Five pairs of pink satin ballet shoes, all by Freed, London, each sole stamped with manufacturer's details and size 4, four pairs with soles inscribed in an unidentified hand in red ballpoint pen Fonteyn [majority faint or indistinct], all inscribed in black, probably by Fonteyn, either L or R to denote left or right foot, some additionally inscribed with initials to denote ballets, including S B [Sleeping Beauty], G [possibly Giselle] and BAY [La Bayadère] (all well worn); with a black and white press still of Fonteyn trying on ballet shoes -- 8x6in.
