Lot Essay

From the same series as an album of drawings of the same size and technique attributed by Gassier and Wilson, loc. cit., to Goya himself, and formerly in the collection of the Marqués de Casa Torres. That group, which may have included the present lot, was exhibited at Madrid, Sociedad Española de Amigos del Arte, Esposicion de Dibujos 1750-1860, 1922, nos. 192 A-H.
