A Chinese gilt and lacquered ivory group
17th Century
carved with a figure of Guanyin wearing long flowing robes, headdress and elaborate jewellery, holding a closed scroll, beside an acolyte, wearing long robes and holding his hands together before him, both standing on a carved wood stand in the form of foaming waves, the acolyte raised slightly by a lotus flower issuing from the waves -- 101/8in. (26.3cm.) high overall, (rubbing and minor restoration).
