A late Victorian silver-gilt cup and cover
maker's mark of Goldsmiths and Silversmiths Company, Edinburgh, 1899
Vase-shaped and on spreading circular foot, the lower part of the body chased with foliage and with two leaf-capped scroll handles, chased with drapery swags and applied with grotesque masks, applied beneath the rim with a band of flutes and rosettes, the detachable domed cover chased with foliage and with urn finial, with beaded borders, marked on side and cover, with later wood plinth applied with two silver-gilt plaques, one engraved with presentation inscription
