An Imari barber's bowl
18th century
painted and gilt with peonies, fruiting plants and plantain to the centre within border panels of floral cartouches and Immortals and attendants on a geometric pattern ground, the exterior with entwined pine and blossoming branches -- 11in. (28cms) wide, (few minor glaze chips); and an Imari squat baluster jar and cover decorated with jardinieresnof flowers and bamboo on grounds of scattered flowerheads and brocade motifs -- 10½in. (26.6cms) high.
