A pair of George III silver soup tureens, covers and liners
maker's mark of Robert Garrard, London, 1802
Shaped-circular and on four foliate scroll feet, the partly-fluted bodies with two leaf-capped scroll handles with shell terminal, applied beneath the rim with laurel sprays, the slightly domed covers with detachable shell finial, with plain shaped-circular detachable liner, the bodies and covers each engraved twice with a crest beneath Baron's coronet, the liners engraved once with a crest, marked on bases, covers and liners, the finials unmarked, each engraved with number and scratchweight, the tureens 'No. 1 79:5' and 'No.2 79.18', the liners 'No.1 18-4' and 'No.2 17.8'
