On spreading circular foot and with scroll and demi-female figure handles, with detachable cover and openwork acanthus foliage finial, the lower part of the body chased with acanthus foliage and with a band of stylised laurel foliage above, the cover with a similar band and chased with a panel of spirally scrolling acanthus foliage, engraved beneath the foot with the initials M.C and R*M H, marked on body and cover
