Colney Woods, Norfolk

The present picture is an early work by Ladbrooke, probably painted when the artist studied under John Crome. Colney Woods, Norfolk, was a subject that Crome had painted and other Norwich School artists such as John Berney Ladbrooke and Henry Ladbrooke were to copy. It is possible that Crome and John Berney Ladbrooke visited the site together.
