Oval, on oval pedestal foot, the body repoussé and chased all over with dense flowers and foliage against a matted ground, with two handles formed as knotted vines, the conforming domed cover with heraldic boar finial, marked under base
15¼in. long over handles; 65oz. 10dwt.

Lot Essay

The heraldic crest is that of Breese. This silver and the preceding lot were wedding gifts to Julia Kean Fish, daughter of Secretary of State Hamilton Fish in May 1900, upon her marriage to William Lawrence Breese.
