A study for the left side of the picture of Venus in Vulcan's forge in a private collection in Padua, S. Mason Rinaldi, op. cit., 1984, no. 191, fig. 134. The picture is datable to circa 1590-5. Another related drawing was exhibited in Munich in 1977 (R. Harprath, op. cit., no. 27). A picture of the same subject datable 1600-1610 is in the Gemäldegalerie, Cassel (S. Mason Rinaldi, op. cit., 1984, no. 119, fig. 405).
