Preparatory to a section to the left of Vanvitelli's View of Posillipo with the Palazzo Donn'Anna, Naples in the distance now in the collection of the Duchess of Lerma at San Roque near Cadiz, G. Briganti, Gaspar van Wittel, Milan, 1996, no. 392. This picture was part of a series of Neapolitan views formerly in the collection of the Dukes of Medinaceli probably commissioned by Vanvitelli's patron the Spanish Viceroy Don Luis de la Cerda.
