A VERY LARGE CANTON ENAMEL DISH
18th century
Painted with a garden scene showing a seated scholar playing the jin for two visitors while two others stroll nearby, the foreground with a boy servant heating tea on a brazier and another bearing a tray of teabowls, all within a wide yellow-ground border densely packed with flowers and enclosed by blue-ground borders, the reverse white with peony and grape clusters trailing from the rim and a large clump of peach, sacred fungus and peony in the center
