Circa 1800
Of rectangular form, the cover applied with a tinted print depicting an allegorical scene of a classical maiden reclining with flowering cornucopiae flanked by the figures of a lion and sphinx with putti hovering above, within a border of geometric inlay, the sides decorated with oval panels of burr-yew, the paper lined and compartmented interior fitted with reels and bobbins, glass scent flasks, a later associated steel thimble and other items
