Lot Essay

The artist was a landscapist active in the region of Rouen. He exhibited landscapes of Alsace and Normandy at the Paris Salon from 1812 until 1824. The present work may possibly be that exhibited at the Salon of 1824 with the title 'Vue d'une maison de campagne située sur la route de Bapaume [near Rouen]'.
