Each of the pair of burners with globular bowl and pendant acorn finial supported on the tails of three upturned dolphins resting on a shaped triangular base applied with an inverted scallop shell at each angle, painted in pattern no. 240 a variation of the 'Japan' pattern, 53/8in. (13.6cm.) high; the single example with a button finial centering a trellis-pierced flat cover, its concave border and globular body painted in iron-red and apple green enriched in gilt with peonies reserved within shaped panels on the blue ground, supported on the tails of three up-turned gilt dolphins and a further shaped triangular base, 65/8in.
