Lot Essay

After the retirement of Miles Mason in 1813, his sons, George M. and Charles James, formed a partnership and continued production. The use of the impressed marks seems to have ceased by about 1825 so these marks always indicate early examples. (see G. Godden, The Illustrated Guide to Mason's Patent Ironstone China, London, 1971, pp. 45-49).
