A GEORGE II SATINWOOD AND MAHOGANY KNEEHOLE DESK
Mid-18th Century, reveneered
The overhanging rectangular top with re-entrant corners above a long frieze drawer, the arched kneehole with a hinged door to the back flanked by three narrow drawers to each side, on an outstepped molded base with bracket feet, the top, sides and each drawer front inlaid with central oval mahogany reserve, brasses and locks replaced, with black ink inscription 3828, and the white chalk inscription Bennet/Denslow/Ave
