A Japanese bone model of a shrine
19th Century
the roof with hanging bells to each corner and decorated with ho-o birds amongst flowers, the main frame with geometric patterns containing a seated Buddha, on a stepped square base, wood stand -- 10¾in. (27.3cm.) high; and two further bone shrines of similar design containing seated Buddhas inside -- 183/8in. (46.6cm.) max. high, (minor damages).
