A Japanese ivory okimono of a farmer
19th Century
carved with the figure standing wearing decorated robes, holding a scythe in one hand and a bird aloft in the other, on a shaped oval base -- 5¾in. (14.5cm.) high; and an Indian ivory bullock drawn cart, the two beasts pulling an elaborately carved cart carrying three passengers, on a rectangular base, under glass dome and wood stand -- 5½in. (14cm.) wide, (minor chips and repairs).
