A pair of ivory and lacquer tusk vases
19th Century
of slightly flattened cylindrical form, one decorated with cranes in flight amongst cloud scrolls, the other with an owl perched on leafy branches, on octagonal wood bases -- 5½in. (14cm.) high; and a Cantonese ivory brushpot, carved with shaped panels of figures in garden scenes between bands of scrolling flowers and foliage, the foot rim carved and pierced with scrolling foliage -- 37/8in. (9.8cm.) high, (minor losses to lacquer).
