The Alpha Domus estate was first planted in 1991 and produced its first wine in 1996. Located outside of Hastings on the Heretaunga plains of Hawkes Bay, the vineyard takes full advantage of the natural climatic conditions of the region to produce classic wine styles. With summer days unaffected by cooling sea breezes, temperatures often soar to above 40 degrees celsius. The vineyards free draining and relatively infertile soils also combine to produce wines of style and distinction.

Hawkes Bay Tasting note: Supple in style, very dark in colour but light textured with pretty raspberry, currant and distinctive herb flavours that finish with harmony and elegance. Cabernet sauvignon, Merlot, Malbec and Cabernet Franc. Wine Spectator 15/11/2000
