ROOSEVELT at top of page 1: "For John A. Roosevelt from his affectionate father." SIGNED IN FULL AND DATED at end of text: "Franklin D. Roosevelt, Hyde Park, Dec. 31st 1928." With original envelope. Rare: apparently printed for distribution to the press.
During his two terms as Governor (1928-1932) Roosevelt continued the progressive policies of Governor Alfred E. Smith, and began his familiar practice of Fireside Chats.
