A PARIS CLARET-GROUND PART SERVICE
Mid-19th century
The border with loose bouquets within quatrefoil gilt edged claret surrounds linked by similar claret and gilt-foliate scrolls, comprising:
Two oval sauce-tureens and covers on fixed stands, 91/8in. (23.2cm.) long, the stands
Four custard cups and covers, 4½in. (11.4cm.) high
together with:
A Locret coffee-can, circa 1790, blue crossed torch mark, painted en grisaille with children playing ring-around-the rosy in a continuous landscape
A Paris coffee-can, circa 1789, illegible iron-red mark probably for the duc d'Angoulême's factory, incised C, painted en grisaille with a gallante before a ruin in a landscape vignette holding his hat in his left hand and a posy in his right
A Dihl and Guerhard saucer, circa 1793, iron-red stencilled mark, painted en grisaille with a flower spray and scattered sprigs within a gilt line rim (9)
