Four trays of quatrefoil form, each interior painted on a yellow ground with three cards, the trellis-pierced sides with scattered flower sprays within dotted borders, black line rims, 3½in. (8.9cm.) wide; two trays oval, each interior painted on a sky blue ground with exotic waterbirds, the exterior of the trellis-pierced sides painted and gilt with flower sprays, 3¼in. (8.3cm.) wide; together with two South Staffordshire enamel oval trifle boxes, one painted with a spray of roses within a blue berried puce scroll border, the ribbon tying the posey inscribed Comme la rose est la vie,, the fluted base cobalt blue; the second painted in mauve with a galleon in full sail, the base a slightly lighter shade of blue, 15/8in. (4.2cm.)and 1½in.(3.8cm.) wide, respectively (8)
