AN IRISH GEORGE II MAHOGANY OPEN ARMCHAIR

The yoke-form crestrail with backscrolled and acanthus-carved eared corners centering a foliate clasp above a pierced interlocking vertical splat flanked by outswept arms with inscrolled terminals, the pale blue chinoiserie-patterned silk damask-upholstered drop-in seat above a plain apron with gadrooned lower edge, on acanthus-carved cabriole legs with patera angles and claw-and-ball feet, carved to the front seat rail VV, with the yellow chalk inscription E1303
