Although we understand that the prop Walther PPK in this lot was obtained for Sean Connery in this production, it would not have been used in the film. In the footage and the signed still in this lot, Sean Connery as James Bond is seen using a Walther P5. According to our research, subsequent to the release of the catalogue, the production team behind Never Say Never Again wanted a different model gun for Bond in this film, rather than 007's usual Walther PPK instead they chose a Walther P5. The fact that this model of Walther, [the P5], did not actually come into production until c.1987/8 was in keeping with 007's image of being ahead of his time where technology is concerned.
