The Blofeld character appears in four Bond films, the first, played by Anthony Dawson in Dr. No is never seen. The subsequent three appear in You Only Live Twice, 1967 [Donald Pleasence], On Her Majesty's Secret Service, 1969 [Telly Savalas] and Diamonds Are Forever, 1971 [Charles Gray]. Donald Pleasence is generally acknowledged to have given the most successful portrayal of the arch villain.
