A Japanese cinnabar lacquer four-case inro
19th Century
carved in high relief with two immortals standing amongst pine trees and rockwork, the reverse with three more seated figures reading books and scrolls in a similar landscape, on geometric grounds, the interior in nashiji, with attached ojimi bead, the netsuke of quatrefoil shape in two sections decorated with figures in garden scenes -- 35/8in. (9.2cm.) high; and a wood three-case inro, the sides carved with two confronting dragons either side of scrolling foliage, on a star-pattern reserve, the interior cases in gilt, with attached ojimi bead, the netsuke in the form of a drum decorated with a dragon amongst cloud scrolls between studs -- 37/8in. (9.8cm.) high, (minor wear).

Lots will be available for collection following transfer to Cadogan Tate on the Friday following the sale and every weekday from 9.00 a.m. to 5.00 p.m.
PLEASE NOTE THAT THERE WILL BE NO CHARGE TO PURCHASERS WHO COLLECT THEIR LOTS WITHIN ONE WEEK OF THE SALE.
On the Thursday one week after the sale, a transfer and administration charge of £18.50 per lot will be payable and a storage charge of £3.20 per lot per day will then come into effect. These charges are payable to Cadogan Tate and are subject to VAT and an insurance surcharge.
