Lot 59 excellent appearance, levels 4cms or less below base of corks. Lots 60 and 61 very good labels, most with original tissues. Lot 60 levels 4cms or less below base of corks. Lot 61 levels between 4 and 5cms below base of corks
Lots 60 and 61 in original wooden cases which were opened for the first time for inspection by Christie's staff
Tasting note: Deep ruby, with a an opaque core and a bricked rim. A very intense, smoky cigar-box nose with sweet cherry and blackcurrant fruit. Smooth and sweet on the palate, a touch of confection. Very fine, delicate and spicy. Expansive. Layers of flavour. Great balance and lovely length. Quite delicious and drinking at its peak. TH
