The rider wearing a leather helmut and a full-sleeved tunic belted over gathered pantaloons, seated with pierced right hand held pendent against his thigh and left hand positioned to hold a pennant above an aperture in front of him, the caparisoned horse with well-modeled head, arched neck and knotted tail, traces of white, red and black pigment; together with a grey pottery figure of a standing official, Northern Wei dynasty, wearing an official's cap, armor belted over his tunic and gathered pantaloons, his hands hidden within the full sleeves resting atop a staff
