A RARE BLUE GLAZED COVERED RITUAL VESSEL, DOU
Incised Guangxu six character mark and of the period
Raised on a high splayed foot, the deep cup fitted with a domed lid, the exterior worked in low relief with stylized lappets and flowing lines about the foot, the lid with a squared scrolling band below stylized lappets and a petal form band below the globular form knop, overall cobalt blue glaze, the white foot incised with a straight Guangxu mark

A vessel of this form also glazed in cobalt blue was included in the exhibtion, Imperial Porcelain of Late Qing from the Kwan Collection, Chinese University of Hong Kong Art Gallery, August 13-September 25, 1983, Catalogue, no. 147.
