The rectangular box decorated on the cover with chrysanthemums and autumn grasses in gold and silver takamaki-e, hiramaki-e and gold foil on a ground of roiro and nashiji, the canted edges fundame, the sides, base and interior with matching nashiji ground, with silver ring fittings cast as chrysanthemum florets
